So DS had a horrible black poo Thursday of last week and we got him checked over and doctor couldn't find any obvious cause. Poos were then a green/grey until Tuesday when he started having loose poos. He has been off nursery since. He has not really been eating and finally this afternoon had some plain pasta. About an hour later he has just started up with the loose pops again having not done any since last night. His temperature is slightly elevated (37.8) and has asked to be naked as he's too hot. Otherwise he is playing and doesn't seem unwell other than being a bit touchy! Should I give 111 a quick call or not? He is 2y5 if that makes any difference.

TIA xxx

I wouldn't.

I would just keep him hydrated and see how he foes

lougle · 25/07/2014 18:31

No I wouldn't. Keep to a simple diet and plenty of fluids.

No, I'd take a poo sample to the nearest walk in centre tomorrow or gp on Monday.

No harm in doing so as it's a service for when you don't really know which service to use! They'll probably tell you to contact your GP or whatever, though. Be aware some walk in centres don't deal with young children.
