Mobility scooter for holiday

We are going to Paris for a few days with the kids, and I'm not sure I will cope with walking around (CFS) so I want a mobility scooter.

We are looking into hiring one for the stay but it looks like it will be almost as cheap to buy one.

Main constraint is being able to take it on the metro and Eurostar while we also have the kids' clobber, so I want it to be light and fold up small.

Is the Sterling Little Star or similar actually something you could carry onto the tube?

I don't know about scooters. But I'd consider a powerchair. They are much better for taking on the tube etc because of size. Plus, don't need to collapse them because you can stay in them on the train. I take my powerchair on the tube (UK) and as long as it's an accessible station it works great.

Just wanted to come back and say thank you. I did hire a mobility scooter for a few days and it made so much difference to being able to join in. I'm considering whether a power chair might be a better long term investment though, as it might be more comfortable and less clunky. Will have to do some research.

It is a big decision, especially as I can walk short distances. I feel like a bit of a fraud. But to be able to 'walk' down to the shops with the kids instead of always driving seems wonderful.

I have just taken a mobility scooter on holiday with my family and our friends, for the first time. It was a big step for me.

It made a massive difference, we could spend hours exploring little towns and gorgeous gardens without me being tired and in pain. My best friend thought it had changed the dynamic of our whole holiday and was really lovely about it.
