Cos I don't.. my kids are increasingly asking questions which I just can't answer. I realise how little I know about everything . My parents seemed to know a lot more stuff.. not all of it useful but I have great voids. Is it just me?

It's not necessarily a bad thing - if they need to know it then you can all look it up online or something together & then you're passing on how to find information too.

I'm sure everyone has been asked questions that they don't know the answers to.

I don't think it's a bad thing not to know the anser to everything - most of us don't! It's knowing what to do to find out the answers that I think is important. I've told my dd that if I don't know the answer to a question, we can usually find it out by looking in a book - and then we both learn the answer together. The aim is that, eventually, she will know how to gather information herself and be confident that she can find or work out the answer.

One of my earliest memories is of my mother saying to me when ever I asked a question is 'Ask Mrs Smith when you go to school'. It made me determined to know the answers for my children. But the reality is that we cant know everything. But I hope to be able to try give more answers than I was given by my mother.
