Inset days (have to plait with ex partner)

Hi all, I'm new to mums net , and wondered if any one knows-
I'm having a difficult time with my sons dad.
Does anyone know how I have to legally split inset days between the two of us???
Ie do you have to split them so that if it falls in your time, that parents has the child that day etc etc
Also my ex is under the expression that he can bank them as it were and then tag on to contact time later on.
I'm a bit snowed under with many issues he's creating so a little help with this issue would be massively appreciated .many thanks

The fact that they are Inset days (training days for teachers) is clouding the issue, I think. They are, and always have been, part of the children's holiday entitlement. The only difference is that they are not always tacked on to school holidays, but can sometimes be during the term, if external trainers are required for instance.
Therefore, children are in school for 195 days a year - the rest are weekends/bank holidays or general holidays.
So, how do you allocate those "general holidays?" Inset days should be lumped in with them, I guess.

But if you mean, who is it who has to cover childcare/take a day's leave, then it's a bit trickier.

I would say that if school is closed during your time, you are responsible for taking the day off or arranging childcare, if the inset is in his time, he is responsible.
