Is it possible to resuscitate old Motherease wraps?

I have some that are 6 years old. The PUL has worn thru and they don't contain fluid anymore.
I thought I heard if you tumble-dried them that restores the waterproofness. Don't have a t-drier but I blasted them with a hairdryer on high with no effect.

Are they rubbish or can I try anything else?

Feels sacriligious just to throw them away!

i think you're going to have to get new ones! if the PUL has worn through then nothing will restore that

I have bought some others... I just can't quite bring myself to bin them without asking around to make sure.

does anyone you know have a tumble dryer that you could put them in and see if that works?

you can get stuff from sports shops for re-waterproofing waterproof jackets... someone on a thread here recently suggested trying that...

think i'd buy new ones myself!

oh yes you can get it from camping shops too

Have been told that if you wipe the inside of the wrap with fairy liquid (or any other washing up liquid) before you tumble them that should restore them (that is when you want to re waterproof not before every tumble!)
