Just wondering, what is the usual amount of contact for a 6mo, with a non resident parent. I'm new to this, he only left on Thursday and has seen DS once.

I've offered him an evening a week (until DS bedtime) and Sat 9am - 1pmish. Not sure if I'm being the unreasonable one here, but I have never, ever left DS, and Exp didn't pull his weight with child care. He never even woke in the night when he cried. I once asked him to watch him for the afternoon and his reply was 'why all he'll do is fucking whinge for you'.

God the guys a twat.

Gosh I have no idea what an appropriate amount of access would be but just wanted to say good on you for getting out of that relationship!!

What you are suggesting seems entirely appropriate, however it sounds like your ex's involvement may well tail off if he cant be bothered (which it sounds like he cant).

think trust me that's not the worst of it.

I think so too. He is expecting overnight contact. I'd rather bloody die.

Oh lordy. If he doesnt wake for him though how is that even going to work?

I wonder what the right age is to start overnights?

Exactly. I also worry about all the 'safe sleep' etc business. Basically he doesn't have a clue what he's doing.

personally I wouldn't allow him overnight contact until your DS is at least sleeping through the night consistently so you haven't got to worry about your exP not waking for him. buy if your right his interest will have tailed off way before then.
