My sister applied (using paper form) before due date, all documentation etc and still hasn't heard back.

I filled it in online about a month ago, hadn't got round to sending off documentation (cos I lost it) and got my final notice thing back two weeks later.

Just luck whether they do yours or not innit.

Main assessment through, haven't heard about chilcare yet

get my cash 5 days after I enrol and they hit the magic button, so around the 26th then

rustybear · 12/09/2006 18:44

We did DS's form about 2 days before the deadline & we got a letter with a query in the middle of August, which I assumed would lead to delays, but we got the assessment four days ago. Probably depends on your LA ours is Wokingham, who have a reputation for being slow, but this seems pretty good to me - mind you it remains to be seen how quickly DS will actually get the money!

PeachyClairHasBadHair · 12/09/2006 19:10

I think with most Uni's, as long as you have the assessment, when you enrol theyr elease the cash, it tkes 5 - 10 days.

tiredemma · 13/09/2006 07:26

well I rang my LEA yesterday afternoon at 4.30pm to chase my application, confirmed my name and DOB with woman on other end- she said "can you just hold the line a minute?" went off- 10 mins later Im still sat like a lemon. convinced that I had been cut off I redialed the number. Only to get a recorded message telling me that the office is now closed. So she quite clearly fobbed me off so she wouldnt miss her bus home.
Tossers.

starshaker · 13/09/2006 07:35

im studying biomedical science but im up in scotlad so its probably different

fairyfly · 13/09/2006 08:01

Mine is waiting for aproval off the big chief aparently. Then once it has been done, another ten days to process it. I have written a cheque for childcare which will probably bounce.

Fio, i have lessons with the Textile students.

schneebly · 13/09/2006 08:09

I am in Scotland and still waiting on mine - my course started last a week past Monday and I can't afford to buy any of the books until it comes through!

My friend had this exact problem last year so they don't seem to have improved at all. Don't all throw things at me but I seem to remember she was still battling with them about it in November.
