My DS is currently trying to nap in his cot with it full of toys. He used to sleep with just one and now wants a range if things. I try to encourage him not to take them but he goes bonkers. He doesn't nap, much when he has toys. Why does this bother me so much? He's 20mth.

How many naps does he have? Do you think he's trying to tell you he doesn't need so much sleep?

how long does he sleep for once he drops off?

Because you're tired and toddlered-out and when he's faffing about rather than sleeping you can't relax? Totally normal! Btw dd (3) has gone to bed tonight with about 10 ball pit balls, some books, a cardboard box, several soft toys, a teatowel, a purse... It just gets worse Grin

slightlyconfused85 · 07/07/2014 21:38

that's a good amount of time. I wouldn't worry about it. My 20mo daughter went to bed with 4 bits of jigsaw and about 8 teddies tonight wearing an owl beanie hat

It's hard to relax when they're not asleep though, I recommend turning up your music while he faffs.
