We have 9yr old dd. Last Christmas she asked for a mobile and I put my foot down and said she was too young. Dh was all for it, his argument was so that when she's at the park we can get in touch with her. Now for some this maybe a valid reason however, we live in a tiny village and I can see the park from the house. She didn't get one.

He has taken her and the other 2 to butlins for the weekend and dd has just phoned me from HER phone. I'm fuming that he's gone and got her one without discussing it with me. The chances are I might of agreed to her using one while they are away as he majorly stresses about their safety. Would I be out of order having a rant at him for doing this without telling me??

No you are not being unreasonable this should have been discussed with you first. He has undermined you and next time she might just wait for your DP when she wants something. Not sure what I'd do next though! If you take the phone off her you'll look unreasonable maybe you could restrict the use of the phone to only when shes out.
I find it strange though that a little girl needs a phone. Id be worried about someone taking it off her/ stealing it...

Pretty much what I was thinking.

I can see the use while they're away as it's busy and she wants to do somethings that are for her while dh takes the younger 2 to do something more age appropriate.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to take the phone as knowing dh it's probably one up from a plastic toy one. And we live in a very tiny village where all the very few kids wouldn't dream of doing anything like that.

First, you need to find out from your DH exactly what the situation is.
