cutting nails!

So my DS has always been fairly non-fussed about having his fingernails and toenails cut but the last couple of times it has been a complete nightmare!for instance this evening I tried to cut them and he was howling, screaming for me to stop!

I know its not the most important but obviously it has to get done so any tips on how to get over this????

I've tried letting him play with the clippers and 'do mine', cutting various toys nails, at different times and in different places! Nothing seems to help :(

Nail cutting is awful if they don't want it!!! Could you do it after the bath when they're a bit softer? Could you have a try when he's asleep if you get really desperate?? X

Might give the sleeping thing ago next time, my only concern about this is how wriggly he is!!! He's 2y4 and very strong willed, my mother calls it payback!!!

We had big struggles. Finally got over it when he realised that his toe nails actually hurt a lot more when they get ripped than when I cut them! He's 4 now. Good luck!

It's horrible for her and me a stressful screaming match with lots of tears, and they grow so fast don't they !
she's 16 months with terrible excezma and so we have to make sure they're short but it's an ordeal, brushing her teeth is becoming just as bad:(

We cut DD's nails in front of in the night garden... only way she stays still for it!

teeth brushing is still a major battle though
