Cleaning teeth

Until now 2 year old DS has been great with cleaning his teeth. Admittedly he chews more than he brushes but he still has a go. The back of the head of the toothbrush was soft and chewy so it was nice and comfortable for him. However, he has now chewed it to death and needs a new one. I bought a new brush but after trying a couple of times and realising it hasn't got the soft bit he won't use it and just reverts back to the old one. I have hidden the old one but then he refuses to use anything. I have bought a Thomas brush but that has the same problem. I have tried finding the exact same brush again but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have any tips on getting him to use a new one so I can throw his manky one away?

Have you got a pic of the old one? Maybe we can find you the same one?

I have found it on Amazon this morning. Do I just keep going with what is familiar and not worry about it?

Yes, I would Smile

This comes from someone whose DD has to literally be pinned down every single day for teeth brushing.

I would keep going. It's easier for everyone, they'll grow out of it but in the meantime will have healthy teeth. DD had an exact replica of her toothbrush bought multiple times...they lasted her a good while.

Yes order a couple more on amazon for now and when he's older make a fun trip out of letting him choose another one.

Which toothbrush is it please?? I have to wrestle DD every night to brush her teeth Sad

We show DS Octonauts creature reports on our iPhones while we brush his teeth. He loves it.

LouisaJF · 03/07/2014 19:58

It's an Aquafresh Children's Toothbrush 0-3 years. It's yellow and purple. He loves it.

He's a creature of habit, he doesn't like change!

Oh damn, think that's the one we had first! So not going to be a magic solution to my wrestling problem... Thanks anyway!

My DD had a 2 month ish phase of hating toothbrushing when she turned 2. What fun that was... We're over the hump now but she would use any excuse to get out of toothbrushing. Smile
