hi everyone,
dd is very almost 2, and ds is 3months old now. until now dd sleeps in her cot, and ds is in a crib. im starting to see ds is getting ready to move over now into a bigger cot. question is...do we invest in a new cot for ds,and keep dd in hers for as long as possible, or do we just buy dd her big girls bed already?a few factors to consider- 1)dd is toilet trained, 2)dd has only very recently started sleeping through the night..shes a bit of a sleep resister (once or twice a week at daycare she just skips her nap...and then is super duper tired! - does end of cot = end of daytime nap?!)
so..thoughts?!much appreciated :)

We've just put ds (20mo) into a big bed . He still takes his daytime nap . He's always been a sleep resister as well it's been hard at bedtime getting him to stay in his bed but just persevering with lifting him straight back in and hopefully he will soon settle ok .

Both my girls went into beds from 17 months, I would put her in a bed.

I'd go for a bed. I fully intended to keep DS (also nearly 2) in a cot for as long as possible until one evening a month ago he fell out head-first!

I would say bed.

You could get one with a bed guard if you want to.

She probably won't be in a cot much longer anyway so might be a bit of a waste of money for you.

Dd1 went into a full size single at 18 months to free up the cot for dd2. Pillows on the floor and a full size single duvet tucked in sideways worked fine.
