Wee Notions Night Nappies

Am I being daft? I'm looking for a decent night nappy for DD and these are supposed to be the Bees Knees but the site states that they need a waterproof outer. If they need a wrap then why do we have to choose colours/patterns etc? Is there not a plain white one that isn't so pricey because it comes across as I'd be paying for the lovely fabric but then you wouldn't see it anyway because they are covered by the wrap? Do people really spend money on designs they never see? Or have I missed the point entirely?

More to the point, are they really the best night nappy? Or is there an alternative? DD is currently in a Bumble with a Blueberry wrap at night but by morning she is soaked and the smell of ammonia is very strong. I don't mind spending a bit on this as expecting another baby so will get the use out of it but the Wee Notions site made me feel like I'd be paying for the novelty of fun designs rather than a nappy that catches wee!

What are you boosting the Bumble with?

I always think of it like this.... Boring white knickers are ok... but sometimes like frills, and lace and colour - doesn't matter if no one else see's them, I know they are there. So yes, you can have the basics... or you can have the fancy.

But they really are AWESOME nappies - they are the only nighttime nappy I used with my elder daughter. I guess the way you boost them will make a difference too, and what you're boosting with.

Have you thought about changing your nappy cover? PUL is great - I used it a lot myself, but I much prefer wool covers for overnight.

Oh and yes, people do spend money on prints that others never see - I buy from a particular nappy maker in the US, and I pay about £35 a nappy - and they are usually covered with either wool or a wrap. Liking this warm weather though as it means DD can go coverless.

I'm boosting the Bumble with a bamboo booster, am wary of boosting to much as my DD is very slim and she just finds the bulk uncomfortable.

Y'see I get the whole fancy knickers thing and have lovely wraps and fun patterns but only on the outside of the nappy, not under the wrap, can't see the point myself. Not criticising it, just not something I wanted to spend money on myself.

I am more than happy to spend the money on Wee Notions if they are reliable and comfortable though!

They are, imo. I might be biased though as Suzanne who runs it is a good friend of mine. I would recommend them though/

You see them on the washing line Grin

Opies, are you talking hybrids there? Wink
