neighbour usually babysits, we give her a bottle of wine (she refuses anything else)

but her teenage daughter is babysitting this weekend (shes 18 and at uni)

i think she would prefer cash, whats the going rate?

I asked this the other day and we all seemed to think that £5 an hour is fine.

Have a nice evening.

how's it all going?

how long are you going to be out? you could agree a fixed rate for the evening maybe £15-20?

SpaceCadet · 08/09/2006 12:10

£5 an hour definitely

nailpolish · 08/09/2006 12:10

yes thats a good idea

think we will be out from 8pm til 1am

is it ok to ask her to stay til 1am? she literally lives next door. and i suspect she wants to bring her bf, hes quite nice, what should i say when she asks?

8 - 1am, well £5 an hour is £25, so either do that or just say, look is £20 ok?

Will her mum be cool with her babysitting till 1am?

If she wants to bring her boyfriend then that's your shout. What would you have got up to at 18 with your boyfriend? Just a thought. I'd probably say ok to it but not sure till I'm in that situation. If you like and trust her and she wants some company on a saturday night while she sits in someones house for 5 hours then think it's probably ok.

Hope you have a lovely evening

her mum is great, i think ill ask her about the bf, she is a brilliant woman, who will give me an honest answer!

i know she is fine til 1am, shes 18 after all, and lives just right next door. her dad will be home too, and we really arent going far

i was kinda hoping it wouldnt be more than £20, i hope she doesnt think im tight
