Straw poll please...reflux, ill or something else?

So DS is 11 weeks old. He has always been pretty tough work to get him to nap in the day but its getting worse. He recently went from pooing every single feed to very suddenly just 1 a day about a week ago.

For the last few days he has been really windy and didnt go for a couple of days. His wind absolutely stank which is unusual.

Today I have already changed 4 dirty nappies and his poos are a bit mucusy.

He seems to be suffering a bit from reflux as he possets at every single feed and often in between and often quite a bit.

DD had bad reflux as a baby and the screaming night and day and sleep issues were horrendous. I'm panicking that my beautiful smiley DS seems to be going in the same direction.

Anyone care to diagnose for me? Is this reflux or something else as well?

Hi are you bfing or ffing?

DomesticGoddess31 · 19/06/2014 15:02

I should add he goes down fine in his Moses basket at night and has a 6 hour sleep at the start of the night. He has been a bit unsettled after that for the last couple of nights.

He's asleep in his basket now after not sleeping at all since his 30min nap at 8 this morning. Despite pushing him in the buggy round the zoo?!?

Oh hi sorry bfing. He was feeding every 2 hours till I realised I was misreading his tired signs for hungry signs. Now I aim for 3 hourly but he often seems hungry before that but then ends up puking everywhere when I feed him?!

I would go back to feeding him every 2 hrs. Maybe he is getting a shedload of lactose as foremilk if you are suddenly feeding less frequently.

Purplehonesty · 19/06/2014 22:15

Sorry I didn't come back. I thought it might be bm related.
Could be lots of foremilk making him sick. If I fed ds when I was really engorged and he had lots he was always sick.
Have you changed your diet at all, started having spicy things where before you weren't?

Purplehonesty · 19/06/2014 22:22

Or I wonder is he gulping air when he is feeding? Can you hear him squeaking or swallowing a lot when he feeds?
I used to stop half way thro and wind ds or again he'd be sick at the end of a feed. He didn't like it much being stopped and winded but it did help the sickness.
The only other thing i 'd say is their poo does change and depending on your diet - ds was a once a day baby and dd every feed then it was revert to daily.
Also dd got gastroenteritis at a couple of weeks old (how, I've no idea as we barely had visitors as I was paranoid about germs!). It started showing as wind and explosive watery poos then high temp quickly followed. So if you do get a temp, go to doc ASAP.

Might be the start of an infection. Ds had a virus recently, started off with more possiting, more grumpy, then mucousy diarrhoea and then a temp.
