Hello, I am a German Mom, raising our daughter bilingually (me English, rest of the family German) and so far we get along great, but now I need help - can someone tell me "kids language" or family language for the "private parts"? I don't just want to use the "official terms" all the time.... Thanks so much!!! grin

The penis = willy

Sorry I don't know more

Willy

Front bottom and back bottom?

ernest · 20/02/2007 12:26

loads of discussions about what to call a girls' bits. No good answer tbh. for boy it's willy usually, but for girl...... Loads of looooong threads already asking that q.

I grew up with a front bottom.
I now seem to just have a space where I don't have a willy (now in a house with 4 males, "poor mummy got no willy")

Thanks.... I knew about "willy" (or sometimes weenie in AE), but am still missing the word for a girl's private parts.... Ernest, I think it is funny that my MIL (the best ever!) is talking about the bottom as well when she is washing my dd. LOL at the same euphemisms in different languages! Maybe sometimes someone will tell me....

We started calling my dd's bits a front bum but she now calls it her bummy. She has a bum at the back and a bummy at the front.
My son was asking about his scrotum and asked me to get rid of it. I told him he would need it in future to make babies. He now talks about the babies in his belly that will one day come out of his willy. He is getting confused with pregnancy, but he is only 4 1/2. Grusse & kusse and good luck. Let us know what you decide on xx

My SIL used whanny with her daughter (don't actually know where that came from) and we're using it as well now! Hope it helps.

Thanks girls! I haven't really decided yet, but I'll let you know. So far I am talking about the private parts which isn't great, but oK for me right now (dd is 19 months old). Maybe I'll get some more suggestions if I keep this bumped every once in a while. Do English speaking people usually say vagina or do they mostly stick with bum (or is that just for the behind? I've heard both)? That could be oK, since we say butt to the bottom (AE). I just think that vagina is so 'official' compared to willy, for example. Maybe you could help me with that....
