Yep, my dd1 stayed the same size for well over a year and shes JUST grew out of a 12 at 8 and dd2 whos 5 an 11 coming on 12.

must had he's shot up in height - he's mostly wearing 7/8yr clothes - his feet had better hurry and grow or he'll start toppling over LOL.

My DD usually only changes shoe size every 6-9 months, but a year!! Got your wear out of the shoes didn't you?

JanH · 04/09/2006 12:53

DD1 had the same pair of shoes for over a year aged 4ish-5ish - they were a bit big when I bought them so I can't say her feet didn't grow at all, but they didn't grow much. (They were size 7, but she was a tiny thing!)

Ds1's feet stayed the same size for the whole of Reception. The folloing year they grew 3 sizes bigger.

dd1 was a size nine for 18 months aged about 4-5.5. her sandals lasted two summers. it made up for dd2 who grew a whole size in 2 months.

Phew that's a relief - I thought kids feet always grew quickly (especially when they're tall and growing taller rapidly) good to know it's 'normal'.

DS2 went up 2 shoe sizes in the space of 3 months at the end of last year and was a size 9 at the start of August (he'll be 3 in November).

It's starting school, isn't it! They're doing so many new things all at once there's no energy left to grow their feet

Twiglett · 04/09/2006 13:03

yeah my DS ended reception in the same shoes as he started .. and he's gone up 1/2 size to a 12 (he's 5.5 too)

KTeepee · 04/09/2006 13:33

Dd's had the same school shoes for 18 months! Will buy her some new ones this term as the old ones are really scruffy!
