Why is my 7m old vomiting every time I wean her?

Third baby so I'm supposed to be an expert by now! But this baby has be stumped with weaning.

I started weaning her at 5m with puréed apple and banana and she loved it. Went and bought baby porridge (as I have with my other 2 at the same age) and she vomited it all up with really big projectile vomits a few hours later. She did it 3 days in a row so I stopped weaning.

I haven't fed her anything for 2 months except for giving her toast or apple pieces to hold and chew on. I've also started 1 bottle feed a day and she is absolutely fine with formula and no vomiting. (She is ebf otherwise)

Today I tried banana and formula and again, a few hours later 3 massive projectile vomits.

Why is she doing this? Should I lay off weaning again? She has no teeth and hand coordination isn't that good where she can chew on things herself.

I'm taking her to the hv on Monday but would like advice on here first as my elder two were absolutely fine with weaning.

This happened to ds, he had reflux, but it was totally under control with formula bu the time he was weaned, weaning was a detox excersise for him though he was nearly 9 months before he would eat and not puke. Cant offer advise because we just had to wait it out, even finger foods provoked it, but he is a fantastic eater now, not one bit fussy and he was a great weight, hitting all hes physical development milestones and sleeping through on just milk so in the short and long term I don't think the delay harmed him at all.

Are you spoon feeding her? Maybe you're overfeeding? I would let her feed herself grabbing fistfuls and see if that helps.

Thanks Rabbit. Did your DS have other signs of reflux or did it just show itself with weaning? Dd2 doesn't show any signs of reflux. She breastfeeds fine and takes the one bottle of formula fine too. She is also a great sleeper and sleeps through on one evening feed and seems like a good weight.

Iggly, yes I'm spoon feeding as her coordination hasn't really developed yet. She will hold onto and pick up things but won't bring them to her mouth. I normally hold onto her hand when she's sucking on an apple. I try not to over feed probably gave her a tablespoon of mashed banana today.

He did have reflux from birth but with medicine and a dairy free diet (was intolerant) it wasn't usual for him to be sick at all anymore after he'd turned 4 months thats why it really threw us when we weaned at 6 months and that happened.
The HV at the clinic wasn't familiar with the situation that a bby can keep down milk but not solids either she said usually in cases of extreme reflux they may be inclined to recommend earlier weaning as puree food obviously thicker so more likely to stay down.
I was a nn in a baby room before having ds and I hadn't seen it before either refluxy bby's I've looked after would usually either through up their milk only or both, not solids only.
