"Frozen" party ideas

DD wants to have a Frozen party in a couple of weeks time. We're attempting to set up a projector so they can watch the film, but if anyone has any extra ideas of what I can do/games to play to stick with the theme I'd be grateful!

She's desperate for a dress but that seems unlikely as they're out of stock everywhere, so I really want her to enjoy the party. There will be about 12 girls there in quite a big room so space isn't a problem at all :)

Ice cream bar as part of party tea? Loads of flavours, sprinkles etc?

How old is DD?

Pin the tail on the reindeer?

CocktailQueen · 07/06/2014 10:03

Decorating snowflakes w glitter etc.
Corners - w the names of frozen characters in each corner
Karaoke using the frozen cd - everyone must know the songs!
Frozen quiz? How old are they?

Or you could lock them all into a room all party and tell them they're Elsa!!

Thanks all :) She's going to be 7, love the ice cream bar idea not least as I get to have ice cream, party tea is the only thing that gets me through these things I love party food!

How do you play corners? Think we'll do the standards - musical chairs/statues etc but would be nice to try something new. There are few enough of them that if they get out first the game won't take long so they should be fine.

And bloody hell Pinterest!?!? Never looked at it before, I am dumbfounded at the effort some people go to for kid's parties? Can't possibly let her see any of that stuff I'll never live up to that kind of expectation!

Have a look on eBay, there's loads of Frozen stuff on there. Cake decorations, party stuff, etc.

Corners - play music. Have pieces of paper with characters names up in each corner. Music stops, people choose a corner. You have small pieces if paper with same characters names on. Choose one at random. The people in that corner are out!

Games we are doing
Pin the nose on Olaf
Steal the carrot from Sven (somebody sat in middle of room with antlers on blindfolded with a crook on thier lap and take it in turns to sneak up and try and get carrot without being touched by Sven
Kris tiffs ice tower - who can build the biggest tower from ice cubes (we are using those plastic reusable ice cubes
Unfreeze Annas heart - I have a heart ice cube tray so freezing heart sequins in side cubes and first person to free the sequin wins
Musical trolls - like musical bumps but curl up like a rock
Musical snowflakes - cut big snowflakes and place on floor and play like musical chairs
I have bought some card snowflake crowns which they will colour in
Snow monster toss - covering some boxeds in white paper and drawing the snow monster on them and using balls they have to try and knock it all down

Brie thanks so much, will be stealing plenty of those ideas! She wants an ice cream cake so that handles cake and pudding (and my mum used to make them for us so it should be fairly easy). Def doing musical snowflakes and trolls, and she wants to do pin the nose on the Olaf so I'll see if I can get organised to do a big picture?! :)

I bought a poster from party delights for £1.99 which I am using. They also do cardboard cutouts but at £30 each I decided it was too expensive.
Food wise definitely do "snowman spare parts" (marshmallows, raisins, pretzels and mini carrots )

plipplops · 19/06/2014 09:25

Ok have just bought a poster and other associated crap from Party Delights:). She's changed her mind about the ice cream cake and just wants a chocolate one so have passed that over to MIL. Paper circles cut for snowflakes (she can draw them on) and tat purchased for pass the parcel prize. All I need now is a bloody Elsa dress and everything will be fine!

i have spent months trying to get hold of an elsa dress with no luck so me and MIL are in the middle of making one.

I got the £30 Anna and Elsa dresses from a nearby disney shop. The shop assistant told me the possible days that week when they would be delivered and I rang up at 8.00 in the morning of the delivery day and they put them aside for me. There were still lots available the shop when I went to collect.

yumyumpoppycat · 19/06/2014 16:57

Actually Amazon have some basic Elsa dresses in stock

Ah, my DSis's neighbour just had a Frozen party for her 7yo. She hired a snow machine to recreate the frozen tundra in their back garden. Important point: they live in Texas, USA, where it is somewhat warmer than here... I like to imagine the snow melted in mid air and they ended up wading around the garden

IDontWantToBuildASnowman · 15/08/2014 10:27

I just did a Frozen party, there are so many ideas on the internet and people above have given links...since the party however I have discovered that Claire's accessories do life size cardboard cutouts of Elsa, Anna and Olaf..

Along with a number of Frozen hair accessories which might be useful for party bags. Just search for Frozen in the search box at the top of the webpage and you should see all items they sell.
