Parties and so on...

Son has a friend who he's known since being 5 months old, in same class in p1. We've invited this boy to parties since he was 3. My son has had a few play dates with him but I don't know his mum well as we both work full time but we do talk when bump into each other. She asked me recently if I knew how to book a local village hall for his party in June -approx 2 weeks away. In the meantime my daughter had her birthday but I didn't invite my sons friends little sister as it was not on the list I got from nursery of who she plays with and their is about a year between them and she still comes across as really young compared to my dd though they do play and are often left as the remaining few at nursery. So far, no invite re party from sons friend and I know it's 2 weeks away. I'm paranoid now she's offended I didn't invite her dd to my dds party or is that really stupid to think that?

No, anything is possible in the minefield that is children's parties!

However, having said that, if she's only just getting round to enquiring about venues, it may be that the hall in question wasn't available, and she is still looking for somewhere, or that she just hasn't got the invitations out yet.

Would the mum even have known about your daughter's party? It doesn't sound as if the girls are particular friends. I think she would need to be incredibly petty to take offence at what you've described.

Hopefully your ds's invitation will be forthcoming shortly Smile
