The Tablet Is Out Already. What Are You & DC Doing?

I'm struggling today. So far, the train track has been out and put away. The playdoh likewise & the TV's been. It's only 10.30!

What are you doing at yours? Make me feel less guilty or give me ideas. (oh and it's raining here btw)

Raining here too :( I had dd on the beach and at the park .. Brought my handy towel ! Now she's destroying her playroom and hopefully will nap soon for 30mins .. Contemplating soft play this afternoon Confused . What age is your dc? Mine's just turned one and needs a ridiculous amount of tiring out to get her in bed at a reasonable time .

Hard to think what to do when it's raining :(

Ooooh, I remember naps. Mine are 3 & 4. We do a lot outside usually - lots to do in the garden but they moan constantly to come in when it's raining.

I'm scared of soft play in the holidays.

I'm going to get the puzzles out after lunch. How lame is that?

Puzzles sound like a good plan :) sorry I've no real advice cos my dd would just destroy a puzzle !

I know soft play really is a last resort. Must check if it's a holiday (half term??) here too . If it is I think I'll avoid .

I fear naps will be ending for me soon , must be hard with no break at all !

Peppa pig overload here.
The dc are playing with their toys but the telly is on in the living room. For some reason, I am exhausted - not sure why - and have no energy so the tv is giving me a nice break.

I think it's motivation I'm lacking mumofboyo. It's rained all week but it's only today that I feel the need to entertain them.

After lunch they went in the garden with their wellies as it's finally stopped raining. Now they're watching Lightning McQueen. I think I've given up today. Screen time overload.

Surely you've got 18 months left of naps, nocturne...? Mine had an afternoon hour until 2.6ish. There are playgroup & school for breaks now they're older and the weird thing is I really miss them when they're there. Now they're home I'm struggling to occupy them. I should just leave them alone, let them get inventive.

At least I can snuggle them while they watch a film Grin

I'm on the tablet and dd's on the Wii.

But I'm just back from work, they've been out playing all day so far, one is about to go to a friends in a minute, and I'll be going out for a walk with the other.

So its a technology interlude.

We've been playing "throw the (soft) angry bird out of the funnel across the room and try to hit the toddler". It's been quite the success with my 2 and 3 year olds!

HappyHippyChick · 29/05/2014 14:22

Pressed post too soon! I am surprisingly accurate at this game! We've also had the Lego out...

Nocturne123 · 29/05/2014 14:57

I hope I have at least a few months left ! My mum said I stopped naps before 1 and my dd has been sneakily cutting hers to 30min a day ! No idea where she gets the energy !

Yep I agree motivation is the thing .. Some days it's just too hard though! Especially when the weather is so miserable! TV/ tablet = lifesavers !
