DN 2.8 yrs has broken his leg (jumping off a bed) and has to be in traction for 2 weeks. I can't be much in the way of practical help living 100 miles away with 2 small DC but I'd like to send him some presents to cheer him up. I was thinking of activity/ sticker story books and was looking at the gruffalo ones but can anyone suggest anything a bit different either in the way of ideas or recommend some particularly good activity books. He likes the usual little boy things, Thomas etc. but also has a penchant for space. Totally outing myself here! Given I work 4 days a week online ordering would be ideal. £10-15 I guess, I've already sent some balloons and a card. Thanks.

Definitely sticker books, these Usbourne books are always good as normally they have to chose the right page and place to place the stickers.

How about a small tea set that he can use on the bed tray?

This was DS2 a couple of months ago!! Things he really loved were a little magnetic drawing board (from asda in the party bag bit) and my brothers old micro machines! Anything they can hold onto and isn't too heavy or awkward because they're not at a great angle.... Sticker books were good also.
Poor little guy - they do adapt remarkably quickly though Smile

Poor DN! We have a portable Aquadraw thing you could easily use lying down. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000Y16EPU?cache=3af678b6e47ecfa1438f0902ae9895c1&pi=SY200_QL40&qid=1401131990&sr=8-1#ref=mp_s_a_1_1
