pinching

Ds is 7 mo and has just started pinching and pulling at my skin, mainly when breastfeeding but also when he's tired / overexcited.

I know he doesn't understand, but I'm interested... Does this tend to last long? I'm removing his hands and telling him gently not to pinch, but he's only wee.

Anyone got an 'it only lasted a week' story? I've already got two bruises on my upper chest.

I have this with my 9 month old and it hurts like hell. My arms and chest are scratched and bruised to bits. I just try to gently hold her hands down or push them away. It's worse when she is very overtired so I guess the only thing I can do is not let her get that way too often. As for how long it lasts I couldn't tell you. DD1 did it too but she is nearly 5 now so I really can't remember. She still likes to comfort pinch my skin (which sends me round the twist) but I am able to explain that I don't like it and only let her do it as a special treat when she is really tired. I thought it was just my dd! She's nearly 9 months and has been pinching dreamily pinching my skin while bf for about 2 months. It bloomin' hurts! I say ouch and remove her hand gently and she stops but ocassionally gets frustrated if she's very sleepy.

My 7 month old does it too, it's painful especially when her little nails grow. She also pulls my hair and sometimes bites my nipple with her razor sharp little 2 teeth. Sometimes I feel quite attacked! Dh also hates it when she grabs the hair on his chest or back and pulls hard. Who would think that one so small could inflict so much pain?!

ohh yes...51/2month old currently loves me sooo much he wants just handfuls of me-boobs, hair the lot. Trying to unhand him but he's so little he just doesn't seem to understand. He got OHs nipple at the weekend and brought tears to his eyes.

I'm so glad it's not just me! Been trying to redirect my pain exclamations as once when he thought it was him he looked most crumpled. I guess that's what they look like when they're older and you do actually mean to tell them off - was a little heartbreaking really.

Ds hasn't even got teeth yet, got that joy to look forward to!
