plenty of fuilds
prob just running a temp
just keep him topped up with calpol till you get home IMO

its maybe just a viral cold starting, try not to worry but your instincts will tell you if any more is wrong, could you ask at reception if they have a thermometer or could you get out to get one, its just that if he gets too hot he could run the risk of a convulsion. Keep waking him with sips of water and asking him how he feels.

I wouldn't give antibiotics unless they are prescribed for this illness.
Keep up with the calpol and plenty of water/fluids as you are already doing.
You could try sponging him with tepid water
is there a fan you could put on?

thanks dont want to get paronoid because we are not at home and I am questioning my own judgement . We have kept him away from public pools because of ear infections so I know this isnt it . Probably just run down . but as he is never ill this is rather as shock . lol

Tha antibotics are amoxilin they prescribe this for everything and I mean evrthing . the day befor we were due to leave he said his ear ached a little bit ,and as we were due to go away i thought I had better get it checked out just to be on the safe side . He did have a slight red ear and if we were not going away the doctor would not have prescribed any thing . She could tell by his records that I am not down there every two minutes the last time he had prescribed antibiotics was 6 years ago (he is 7 now ) and dont want to give them as they dont work with virusis. but i was making sure there wasnt anything else I should be doing as I feel a bit lost.

You sound quite worried about this. Trust your instincts. What would you do if you were at home? If you feel that your son needs to be seen by someone medical then arrange for someone to see him. If nothing else it will put your mind at rest. Set yourself a time that you are happy with and look for some improvement or at least not getting worse. If you are not happy call someone out. Hope you feel more relaxed about the situation soon.

Thanks I am worried because he is never ill . But he is not ill ill iyswim . If I was at home i would be doing what i was doing now . I cant believe my idiot of a dh suggested he had fish for dinner tonight . I mean fish in a hotel resturant . Is he simple or what . He didnt eat anything any way and I didnt push it if he dosnt feel like eating thats his choice . I will offer a sandwich later if he feels peckish . I just feel its scarry as i am in Spain and not at home .

well got back to uk finally . Nice to be home even if the weather is rubbish . My Ds is doing better ,but on the journey he didnt eat anything more than a slice of bread .We decided to give him the antibotics after 2 days when he was so hot . He perked up a bit the after he was sick and in Lyon I was estatic because he ate four chicken nuggets . LOL Just gave him breakfast and he dosnt want it . I think has an absess on his tooth and I have made an appointment for the dentist on Monday .

Glad to hear he is doing better. I'm sure you must be relieved to be back. I think sometimes when people who are very rarely ill become unwell it can knock them for six. Tooth abcesses can make you feel pretty unwell. They can also be quite painful, so that's a good thing if he's not having any pain. Hope it's all sorted out after the dentist visit and he gets his appetite back.
