Where do I see lots of cloth nappies in RL?

Having trouble deciding what to buy as night nappies for DS1 & for DS2 due in December. Are there any nappy 'events' I can attend so I can try all the main ones out? I'm in Yorkshire, they have a Real Nappy Network here but it's 1 woman & nothing much ever happens, no council stuff going on that I know of. Any ideas or should I deal with one of the websites instead? I've done several of those online qu's but diff. nappies are suggested each time so I'm getting confused

Hi, I had a real mental block when I was pregnant with my first son. I knew that I wanted to use real nappies but just couldn't get my head round which ones. I used to end up in tears whenever I thought about it - typical pregnant woman!!
Anyway, my sister was pregnant at the same time and she did all sorts of research and settled on Yummy nappies. We both bought the birth to potty kit and I was very happy with the choice.
They are basically prefold nappies with flushable one way liners and outer wraps with velcro fastening.
I also used boosters and folded muslins for night time.
I did hear some people say that the pre-fold nappies can be a bit bulky and delay walking and crawling but my sons were both crawling at 6 months and walking before 12 so I don't think there is any truth in this.
Hope this advice may be of some interest!

Have a look on the \link{http://www.teamlollipop.co.uk} to see if there's an agent near you who can show you her samples. No pressure to buy or charge for the demo but she gets a little commission on what you order.

Hi i think the best place for info if you don't have a 'nappylady' is a website called babykind. The info they provide about all the nappies is really good but they also allow you to try various different kinds of nappies and return any that you don't like for a 70% refund. I would recommend trying different types as you will probably find particular ones suit your baby better than others... what is good for my baby might not suit yours!!. We use pocket nappies sometimes and although i thought i'd use one brand i found they just didn't suit my 'chunky monkey' and we ended up swapping to another brand that are brilliant!! Luckily i had only brought one of each types so hadn't forked out loads for nappies that didn't suit.
I think it's well worth the effort reusables are excellent.

Thanks a lot for the replies, I went & looked and there is a nappy lady in my town so just filled in the questionnaire. Hoping she can come & show a friend & I all of them. Talking to someone in person is exactly what I need, I'm really keen but need a bit of reassurance not to mention pointers on the right ones to buy. Was going to practice on ds1, but he's just decided he doesn't want to wear nappies even at night anymore, feel quite disappointed!
