Dd won't sleep until 10pm

My dd is 1yo and for the past couple of months has decided she will not go to sleep until around 10pm

She gets up at 7am and will only nap for around 30mins in the afternoon. She does sleep through the night which is great but the late bedtime is completely exhausting me !

Has anyone had experience of this ? Hoping it's just a phase and she will return to normal 7/8pm bedtime soon and give me back my evenings !

Similar here, though my dc naps for about three hours in the afternoon, which helps a great deal. I'm going to watch this thread!

Hats not a lot of sleep at all for someone so little.

Is she having enough protein and fats? What does she eat in a typical day and what do you do?

Nocturne123 · 20/05/2014 08:34

Yeh her food intake is completely normal as far as I'm aware 3 meals a day with a couple of snacks ! We're outside at least once a day to try and tire her out !

To be fair yesterday she had an hour and a half nap and then went to bed at 8pm so either it's a coincidence or the longer nap actually helped!

So she's eating 3 meals, what does she eat? Which milk is she on and how much does she have a day?

I have heard a few Mums say that their children won't sleep at their normal time as the nights get lighter later.

Could you follow a bedtime routine that is relaxing and quiet.. but make sure her bedroom is dark?

Certainly found that a lack of daytime sleep also led to a lack of night time sleep, so I would persevere with trying to get more naps in

Second more sleep. I find my dd will find it hard to settle or take ages to fall asleep if she has had less than 1.5 hours nap and she is 18mo. At your dds age she need 2 or 2.5 hours
