BellyButton help!

My DS is 2 weeks old and spent his first night in neonatal after 1350ml blood loss during birth. He had a fight with his cord whilst in there and when he came onto the ward the next morning he just had the black scabby bit on his belly button.

Anyway, today it looks like it's coming off but there is a bit of yellowy/beige pus below the scab. Can anyone please tell me what it should be like?? Is this normal or do I need to get it looked at? Also who do I go to to get it looked at?

Thanks in advance!

Totally normal. Happened to my DD as well.

Thank you - I can relax a little now! I'll be surprised if it's still on in the morning, it looked a little delicate after his bath!
