My daughter is starting school this year and its just hit me that soon everything will change and I keep getting upset. I have another child who will start school the following year, and then that's the final door closed on the baby years. I will have to look for a job (I haven't worked since my eldest was born) and the whole prospect of finding a job and juggling it with school times and the housework is a little daunting. Sometimes I think about having another baby but that's probably a knee jerk reaction to how I'm feeling and to be honest the thought of sleepless nights is a little scary too...

I totally understand that. I can only suggest looking on the positives - the fun things you can do with slightly older children, activities and holidays etc, how life will in many ways become a lot easier without a very young child and you can enjoy quality time with them and also manage to get more rest for yourself. I think how you are feeling is fairly normal when we think of our children growing up, and starting school is a big milestone, but your dc's are still little and you have many years of young children ahead of you yet. x

Thanks for your reply. I guess this is just inevitable mourning of a closed chapter in life. Let's hope the next one is as good.

Absolutely everything that you have written is me a couple of years ago. Mine are now nearly 5 and just turned 7, although it's unlikely I will have more babies.

I'm enjoying them as little personalities now they're older instead of just sleep, feed, burp, repeat.
