Ideas for me and DC tomorrow?

What can I do/ where can I go with DS (5), DD1 (3 today!) and DD2 (17 months)?

We live in a pretty small town with not a lot here but I do drive. Don't really want to spend lots of/any money! The park will be wayyy too wet.

DP will be sleeping off nights so it will be quite stressful to stay at home...

Any ideas?

Garden centre? Especially one that stocks fish.

Head to toe waterproofs and wellies, and go puddle jumping in the rain. Let them get wet and muddy, burn off some energy, then chuck them in a lovely hot bath when you get home.

Thank you, both brill ideas. I'm normally terrified of mess so they'd be over the moon with puddle jumping Blush

Will google garden centres - it's been a while...

How about going to the library too?

Nevercan · 09/05/2014 21:54

Pet shop

AngelsInWinter · 09/05/2014 21:59

I did think library as they love it. But we went fairly recently and it's tiny so I can't see us spending more than 15 minutes in there :(

No garden centres with fish round here so I did think pet shop! Thank you. Walking would obviously kill more time but 3 year old dd will be awkward - she'll get tired and not want to walk but the double pram is SO heavy with her + 17 month old. We don't have a buggy board Hmm

Our local council runs 'toddler fun' bouncy castles etc in school sports halls on the weekend. Really cheap, not busy and lasts 2 hrs in the morning. Might be worth looking into that. Have they got brollies? I'd second puddles and wellies and add umbrellas for fun.
Moon dough has been a big indoor hit here. Easy to find in toy shops /online for your next rainy day.

How did you get on angel? Smile

AngelsInWinter · 10/05/2014 20:51

Aww thanks for asking.

We ended up at a farm type thing with a play centre indoors... So expensive! But they loved it, and I felt like us 4 were a real team. Even if it did hammer it down!
