two year old eczema cleared with antibiotics - any idea why?

My DD is two and has always had milk eczema. However, since we travelled to the USA it has flared and spread to her legs and other arm (before she had just on one spot on her arm.) Anyway, we took her to the Dr for a check up for an ear infection...turns out she had a bad ear infection in both ears...so was put on antibiotics...after a few days on antibiotics her eczema has completely cleared! I am worried it will come back after she is finished the course. I sure hope it does not!

But I am just curious if anyone has experience with this?

I've had this with my eczema and was told it was because skin suffering from eczema is likely to get infected so what the antibiotics treat is the infection but not the eczema. So it might look like the eczema was cured but it was not, it was just the infection. This seemed to tally with my experience, the flare up was a lot better but the eczema is still there.

I suffer from rosacea and have sometimes been prescribed antibiotics. Apparently they can work as anti-inflammatories as well.

Was it maybe infected?
