Parenting failures :-))

Now, this thread is not supposed to be entirely serious!

I'd like you to share your (or your DPs' ... preferably your DPs'!) parenting failures.

My DH was looking after DS, 9 months, for a full day last week... his first full day. He tried to put him into a sweater. That sweater used to fit ok once on, but admittedly had no stretch whatsoever so even I sometimes struggled to get the young man in and out.

So DH tries to put DS into his sweater and one of his arms gets stuck. He can't get it fully on, he can't get him back out. Man solution: grab the scissors from the nearby first aid kit and cut him out. Job done, Baby happy, sweater kaputt.

Any memorable parenting fails, anybody?

My 11 month old had his first taste of wine this week Blush

We were at a friends house and I was having a very small and sensible glass of wine and DS dangled his hand in my glass and quick as lightning shoved his entire fist in his mouth - he then did his yum yum yum noise which means he really likes it Shock

Please don't report me to ss!!

Widdle, I'm as bad as you! Dd at 14 months was grumping whilst I had a rare G and T during a party. I kept telling her it's for mummies, she wouldn't like it etc but she began high pitched wailing. So supermum here goes fine, dips her finger in and gives dd a tiny taste as I was convinced she would hate it and give up.
Dd goes MMMMMMMM!!!! And tried to get the glass in a very fast move. I ended up with a gin soaked screaming baby.
I felt awful and it was hours before I convinced myself she hadn't drunk any of the gin that spilled. She hadn't but no gin now when dd is out

I was packing up for first holiday with 8 week old DS1 many years ago. As usual it was all down to me so I asked DH if he could just pack the buggy-3 wheeler off road type. A couple of days into holiday we decide to go for a nice country walk so DH goes to car boot and begins putting buggy together-the wheels came off for transporting it. Is taking an awfully long time so I go to see what is going on-to discover the muppet has only packed 2 of the wheels not 3! Great holiday for me carrying baby everywhere since DH couldn't cope with doing anything with him so he wouldn't settle in his dad's arms
