hi, im applying to speech therapy courses in sept, but having trouble filling in my ucas form. i dont know who to use as my reference, im a Sahm, but i have been working as a nanny.but this would not be an academic ref would it? obviously i have no teachers to give a ref as left school 11yrs ago..
i have open uni degree but never met my online tutors so they said they couldnt give me a ref. what do i do??

Is there a contact number on the form that you can ring to oask for advice?

It seems strange that your on-line tutres wont give yuo a referecne - it's not a character reference after all, it's just an academic reference which one would have though that they might just have an opinion on!

would agree that your OU tutors could give you an academic reference - they know you academically don't they?!

thanks, actually i think the ref i asked them for before WAS a character reference, when i was going for a job.
i will ask them again... apart from my last course with the OU was 2 yrs ago so theyve prob forgotten what i was like?! what do you think?

You can only ask them. They should still be able to give you an acedemic refernce, even if they say it is based on work done 2 years ago.

Prettybird thanks...did call them, they gave me a fab reference this morning, bless 'em, was easier than i thought! (yes it was a personal ref that theyd refused me..)
