Hi, I'm a mature (28 yo) student who has just started a phd in October, but currently on a leave of studies due to a relapse into a long standing eating disorder. Im just wondering whether anyone else is struggling with university and an ED/recovery? Feeling very lonely.. :(

Hi lolly. Sorry to hear you're feeling lonely. I think it's a brave decision to take some time out and realise that you need to put your health first, well done for looking after yourself.

I haven't got an ed but there is a woman on my uni course who is in recovery of an ed and was seriously unwell before starting the course. She has been very open about it with everyone on the course and as such tells us when she's having a shit time, so we can rally round her and offer support. Do you think this is something you would like to do in the future when you go back?
