The one thing that makes me feel "oh I wish dh was here for this" is teeth cleaning. Don't know why, just find it a really tedious chore.
What about you?

Agree with the bedtime stories, especially when they want the same one over and over.
I also hate mealtimes, when you spend time cooking a lovely meal, that they would eat no probs last week, but this week they change their mind and decide they no longer like, fish/cheese/sausages/tomatoes/or any or all of them.

moondog · 25/08/2006 20:09

On hands and knees with adamprag under the table after every fecking meal.

Pushing a stroller and getting it in/out of the car and house.

I willburn mine ceremoniously when done with the bastard.

Oh and bottle & teat washing arghhhhh!

MrsMuddle · 25/08/2006 20:34

Making packed lunches for school, without a doubt. There's the sheer tedium of standing making sandwiches, the sinking feeling when you realise you have to go to Tesco at 10pm and get bread, and the daily challenge to create interesting fillings. The best thing about the school holidays is feeling justified in BUYING sandwiches for picnics.

Elibean · 25/08/2006 20:35

I'll second adamprag

Especially whilst pregnant.

Thomcat · 25/08/2006 20:37

Washing the kitchen fllor under the highchair.

The constant hanging out of and putting away of small white vest after teeny tiny socks etc.

Generally removing DD2 from potentially dangerous situations, like the fireplace, and the cat food bowl or from underneath DD1!

Spidermama · 25/08/2006 20:39

Laundering. Especially tiny odd socks.

kitbit · 25/08/2006 20:47

Pooey nappies. Definitely. And picking raisins out of car seat. Floor under highchair has to be pretty high on the list here too! And picking up trail of clothes as dh peels them off ds on the way to his bath (I know I am lucky that he undresses and baths our high speed toddler but bobbing up and down to retrieve every clothing item to finish with a heap of used nappy is on my AGH list).

happypiglet · 25/08/2006 20:49

Anything to do with meal times. Deciding what to give them, buying the food, cooking it, chopping it up, making sure its cooled down enough, trying to get them to eat it, wiping hands and faces (and other assorted body parts) after they've finished, cleaning up the high chair (I only do this once a day now- who cares if he eats day old toast its good for teething), loading the dishwasher, washing up bits that don't fit in, collecting food and cups and spoons from the floor, unloading the dishwasher...... ARGHHH and it goes on and on and on three times a day for ever and ever.....

MegaLegs · 25/08/2006 20:53

washing, breaking up arguements, washing, cleaning the permanent puddle of pee ( ooh, I love a bit of illiteration on a Friday night)from around the loo, washing, cooking, washing, washing, washing aargh! Phew, that feels good!

SherlockLGJ · 25/08/2006 21:04

At this precise moment in time, the whole F*cking lot of it.

Cailyn3 · 25/08/2006 21:06

The one thing that drives me mad about being a parent? My boys selective hearing if what I'm saying to them doesn't involve the words "sweetie" or "biscuit", and having to shout loud enough for Outer Mongolia to hear me before the kids even respond to me, let alone do what they've been asked! Oh yes, and I hate cleaning floors - I've told my sons that its so much fun to do that they often fight over the chance to use the dustpan and brush or the mop.....its got to be fun, mummy does it every single day......

orangegiraffe · 25/08/2006 21:08

Asking dd to put her pj's on for the 53rd time. Arghhh!
