im finding that my ME airflow is leaving red marks around the legs and sometines on the waist, also my tots size 2 sometimes leave marks too. am i putting the nappies on too tight? i was so pleased the first few times when i had no red marks compared to some bad ones i was getting with disposables. i am using a m/l me wrap and have ordered a large but it hasnt Arrived yet. DS is nearly 9 months and just over 22lb, he is now starting to slim down(not that he was mega chubby anyway)with crawling about etc so i am having to fit nappies tighter around his stomach.

has anyone any ideas about these problems?

Also has anyone using bamboozles found they smell abit of wet dog when wet or is it just me?

The other thing i have noticed recently is that DS is smelling weeie(sp?) even when his nappy has only been on a few hours. The nappy lady advice was to change every 4 hours at his age, should i be changing more often if hes smelling or is it normal to get a smell with cloth.

on the plus side, DH is even putting them on now, even the nippad ones. its only taken him nearly 2 weeks. LOL

or half a tablet if using those.

also if you have detergent buildup in your LOs nappies then you probably have it in the drum of the washer too. It's a good idea to do a maintenance wahs every so often - this is run the washer at 90-95 with some white vinegar in the drawer and nothing in the drum.

I did it today and was amazed at the suds produced during the wash cycle

You don't need to dry new nappies between pre-washes (oh how I wish I had known that one 7 years ago...) Sunshine is fab if you can get hold of it, seems to be in short supply lately - but hey it's only March, perhaps I have too great expectations of our weather!

For the smell, try the washing without detergent, adding a couple of drops of lavender or tea tree oil can make a massive difference as well. I always found adding a bit of vinegar was useful.

I didn't discover soapnuts when we were still nappying, but I do use them on my coloureds now, they clean well and also leave the laundry feeling softer. I used to use them on whites but found that they weren't always great at stain removal, so I have gone back to using Ecover powder for whites. Soapnuts are very cheap to use, definitely worth a try, and you can compost them after use as well. It works out at about 3p a wash. Try inasoapnutshell or summernaturals for online sellers.

The Vento does have slightly softer leg bindings than the Mother-ease, both are very good wraps. The fit is slightly different so if you're outgrowing a medium ME wrap, you may find the large Vento is about right.
