Hi. Could someone please tell me what the purpose of these are? I have been having a look on bumsnugglers and think that you use them instead of a wrap?? if so- I take it you just use them at night??

Yep, they are instead of a waterproof wrap, they are very effective at night but can be used during the day too.

They can suffer from compression wicking if not lanolised enough or when tight clothing is put over the top but they keep the nappy cool and drier than PUL through evaporation.

They are also easy to keep as once lanolised they don't need washing very often (fortnightly or longer sometimes ) and both washing and lanolising is very simple - it's just involves popping them in a bucket of lukewarm water with the appropriate solution and leaving overnight.

Bumsnugglers are a great site.

Longies are great because you can use them instead of trousers.

I read somewhere you can use them instead of tights??? but how does that work as you would have to put socks on as well???
ps flamey- have you changed your name or are you someone different??

Nope, still me - I was feeling all bolshy so decided that the sparrow needed losing, but Flame was already taken . Gonna change to FlameFly in a minute in honour of FLYlady

Yes - you would need socks too, but I suppose they mean that they give the extra leg warmth like tights.

I put Emrys in his longies for bed, and he wears a sleep gown, so his legs stay warmer in cold weather.
