Anyone out there still use terries on an older toddler ?

My son is nearly 4yrs and still not dry so hes in nappies overnight and during the day when we go out on longer trips, for a while I've been using disposables but just lately they arent up to the job and are proving expensive so I switched back to terries a few weeks ago.

The terries work well and although I usually use 2 at once they do the trick, but fastening them can be a problem now. Pad folding leaks so I traditionally fold and use a nippa however nippers tend to work loose on an older toddler so I've considered pins.

Has anyone else tried pins on an older toddler ? are they safe at this age and how easy are they to use

I cant see him managing without a nappy just yet and I'd rather just take our time and would quite happily continue with terries if I could fasten them better.

Any help from mums who have used them at later stages would be great, thanks

Both of my sons have been in terries later than this at one time or another. I have always used pins and never had a problem. If in doubt just double pin.

How about a Stuffable wrap? You just fold your terries into a pad and stuff it in - perhaps the pants-style might be more encouraging for him too.

I did consider something along the lines of a stuffable wrap but am reluctant to buy new ones at this late stage especially as the terries do still fit traditionally folded and are less prone to leaks this way.

The only problem is keeping them in place on an active older child hence I considered changing from nippas to pins.

How do you fold for your 4yr old Sophie and do you use nippas or pins ? are they just for night use or are you still using them during the day out of doors like we are :-(

Luckily he doesnt mind a nappy and I'm happy to let things happen in in their own time, though I must admit he doesnt like changing time, depending on his mood getting a nearly 4 yr old to lie still can be a chore.
