Hi,
My 9MO has been biting me for a few days whilst feeding. I have been saying NO and taking her off. Yesterday morning I said it so loudly (through shock and pain!) that she jumped, burst into tears and will not nurse since. Has anyone else had experience of this, and is it over for me breastfeeding??? I am expressing a little amount a day and trying now and again to feed her, but she wont have it. Am going to try again in the morning but am so upset about it, and also, do I WANT to feed her if she is going to bite me all the time?! I guess I would like to keep the morning one if possible. I am just worried she will never latch on again :o(

I know this is a bit different, but my son bit my knee and I flew through the roof. Scared both of us, but thankfully he never did it again. I only had a couple of nips while feeding. My suggestion would to do some skin to skin contact with her. Get a quiet place and try to relax. Perhaps a nap time if possible. You may find that as she relaxes she will want to feed again. As for the biting, being consistent, as you are. Perhaps, when she bites, take her off and give her something that she can bite. Help build that association. I hope you get through this. It would be a shame to have to quit when you are not ready.

thanks,
she put my nipple in her mouth twice this evening during skin to skin but other than that, no bf for 3 days now :o(
I will keep trying for another 3 days then stop I think, as too upsetting...
