Am I right to feel really annoyed by this ...

Today I was in sainsburys with my 3 year old when I heard a mother who had 4 kids with her shout to them " look over there at that lad in the pushchair , what a fat bastard he is" She was referring to my LO and I was livid that someone could be so impolite and rude, I didn't speak to her about it but I heard her talking about him again later.
How would you feel ?

Woah, seriously? What a rude bitch!

JeanSeberg · 18/04/2014 20:50

I'd have had to say something. Did you?

BuzzardBird · 18/04/2014 20:52

Nicole, all your posts I have read have been about your overweight dcs. What is your gp doing to help you and your dcs?

I think I was too angry to speak to her in a civil manner. Not that she was doing so herself.

BuzzardBird- it's true that most of my posts are about my child's weight, my GP is incredibly helpful and I can gladly say that my DS (13) now walks to or from school at least twice a week and although he hasn't lost weight his height has increased a little, which I'd imagine makes him less overweight :)

It is horrible that people are so stupid and vile that they are shouting it out loud to their children. They are ignorant idiots.

Rockchick1984 · 20/04/2014 17:55

Is your 3 year old fat? Agree it's awful of the other woman to say what she did, but surely by 3 your DS can walk rather than go in the pram (unless prevented by disability) and the walking would help to ensure he wasn't overweight?

itiswhatitiswhatitis · 20/04/2014 17:59

She was vile and rude. It is sad though if you children are over weight, I hope that is something you can change.

edamsavestheday · 20/04/2014 18:02

She's horrible and setting a dreadful example to her own children. Glad you are getting some help.

seanbonbon · 20/04/2014 18:47

Well if your children are overweight you are doing something about it. Unfortunately, if she's so rude now she'll probably never change. Her children are to be pitied, having a mother like that!Wink

yes I would be annoyed too, regardless of his weight it is awful parenting to encourage your child to laugh at other children's appearance, especially when that child is so young.

rockchick I would assume he was in a pushchair because some 3 year olds make it impossible to your shopping as they run around and stuff so a pushchair would be to keep him under control.
