So I posted in the health section but not had any replies and just want some reassurance really!

DS is 2.2 and had diarrhoea since Monday afternoon, getting progressively worse! Every time he passes wind a small amount of poo comes out and every time he has a wee he has done a poo, often quite significant amounts! He seems otherwise well in himself but am obviously concerned about how long it has now been going on. Do I go to my GP?

TIA xxx

My 2 year old had a prolonged diarrhoea episode when his molars were coming out, we had about 4 days of similar to what you describe. As luck would have it and to add to my stress, we were on holiday in Berlin at the time! Because he had no other symptoms of being unwell and because I thought it was likely to be the teething, I went to a nearby pharmacy, spoke to the very helpful pharmacist and got rehydration salts for toddlers. I think with prolonged diarrhoea, dehydration is a very real risk. Does your DS have any other symptoms? In any case, I would have a set deadline where if he hadn't improved I would go to the GP (maybe by the morning?). Getting ahold of a rehydration drink (specifically for children, I don't think adult ones are always suitable) in the meantime would be a good idea I think, if possible.

Yes I would see the GP, or at least ring them for advice. Its been going on quite a while.
