Swaddlebee leaks, anyone else found this?

I finally received my order of swaddlebees, put them on straight away only to find one hour later they were soaked through; like as if someone had thrown a glass of water over dd2 . Has anyone found this?

Yep - worst nappy I've ever tried (and have tried at least 10 different types). Leaked every time I used it.

Disappointing because they look so nice...

Have recently tried a swaddlebees velour which is very nice - much better than the pocket.

BonyM thanks for that, wish I'd known beforehand. Hindsight, eh? It cost 15 euro, so I am not happy. I may return it.

Detta - if you like the style of a pocket nappy I have always found Happy Heinys to be pretty good - I stuff with a joey bunz hemp insert plus 2 microfibre cloths and they will last 3-4 hrs.

Yes, I have a Happy Heiny and love it. I just thought I'd try something else and am living to regret it. I had to wash all her clothes, the car seat, the buggy...

Hi Detta,
I'm really surprised you found this as I use the swaddlebees all the time and find them great. What booster are you using? Did you wash it before hand or is it new like the nappy?

Hi there, could it have been the finish on the fabrics? Did it still leak after pre-washing?
I have heard a lot of people have leaks in these nappies with all but the lightest of wetters.
In fact IMO pockets in general don't really suit heavy wetters - unless they have two bath towels inside - which is just silly.
Look here at my cloth nappy blog, to see feedback on Swaddlebees, there are quite a few comments. Also Happy Heinys at the bottom of the page. I think the solid colours are supposed to be very good.
Swaddlebees are supposed to be good for potty training so you could hang on to the nappy for that??

Kathy101 I used a new insert which, of course, in my haste wasn't pre washed which I think was part of the problem. It's sad to think I was so excited over a new nappy that I didn't even think of that!!!
Maisiemoq DD2 is almost 1 so she will be training next year (hopefully) so I shall keep it for then. Thanks.

Hi Detta. That sounds like it could have been it. I use a hemp booster thats been washed about a million times (manufacturers say 8 - 10 washes to get maximum absorbancy but hey, who's counting!) along with a microterry booster as the hemp one absorbs too slowly on its own. I find with the pocket nappies, once the boosters are right you're laughing.
