Transition from carry cot to cot

Hi,
My son is 4 1/2 months and I have been introducing the cot to him now for approx 3 weeks, during the day every nap time (wen in home) he sleeps in the cot fine for his half an hour cat naps he has. In the evening after a bath around 8 he goes down in the cot and settles fine until he wakes around 11 for a feed... After that I can't get him back in his cot, I am up and down constantly trying to settle him, which is fine but wen ur sooo tired anything for an easy night sleep falls in, and I put him in his carry cot, which he settles in straight away and last night for the first time he slept for 5 hours straight!!! It was a miracle normally I get 3 hours max.

Should I persevere with the cot at night times or should I just let him sleep in his carry cot after that last feed for a while?? I just don't no what to do for the best because wen I keep trying him in the cot it gets to the point I'm tired he's tired and grotty so it's just easier to go back to co-sleeping in mummy's bed (as we did for the first 12 weeks. Due to severe colic :( which luckily has eased off a lot )

Any suggestions would be helpful :)

Thank you x

Have you tried popping the carry cot inside the cot for a while?

Then use some small rolled up towels under the sheet to create a sort of nest in the cot for a while.

Feel if there's any difference in the mattresses and consider putting a soft blanket under the sheet (or a lambskin if you spend far too much on your kids like me!).

They also tend to be warmer snuggled in a carry cot, so may be worth reviewing layers.

He will get used to it! Can take a while though.

Iv tried putting the actual carry cot mattress in the cot (didn't really make much difference) he's definitely warm so can't be that, I might try something soft under the sheet I think, I don't understand the point of the carry cot in the cot because he can't see out of it so seems pointless ( he sleeps on his front)

I don't no weva he is ready for all night in a big boys cot? But I am a softy and tend to make excuses for my baby ha

The nest idea sounds good... It will make it more like the carrycot won't it more snuggly x
