Chicken pox - twice??

Ds had chicken pox this time last year. His nursery just called to ask me to collect him as 'spots with blisters are appearing in front of our eyes'. I told them he'd had chicken pox, so they're going to monitor him for 30 mins and I've got to call back. Obviously no problem with collecting him early, but how common is this? What else could it be?

I had it 4 times Growing up, very common, the second time isn't normally as bad as the first.

yes they can get them more than once. There are different strains as well which doesnt help

p.s. although they can get it more than once it is fairly rare

Fairly common to have it twice, usually only if the first case was mild, or before a year old, as not enough immunity built up.

I had it as a child and again as an adult.
