Naps and routine for 3 month old

My DS is 3.5 and I'm establishing his routine (after a few false starts) He is naps at 9.30am, 12noon & 4pm. We do bath routine at 6.30 & he's usually asleep by 7.30pm and he sleeps well at night (wakes just once or sleeps through until 5am. He is very irritable by bath time though

Interested in how that compares?

He only does 45 mins morning and arvo. Is this okay? Feels short.

How can I get him to be less grumpy post bath?

He only seems to have an hour at lunchtime now (used to have 2-3 hours) so I am may move his 12 noon to 12.30 or his afternoon nap forward. Is this usual to be so short.

Lastly, when will he start to drop the AM and afternoon naps? My MIL said his sleeps will get shorter and shorter to me today. Already feels quite minimal!

It maybe the naps will pick up once he is used to the routine and being put in his bed for them more now?

Thanks!!

All babies are different but sounds ok to me and fairly similar to my dd at that age - she is 8 months next week.

My dd naps for anything from 20 mins to 2 hours depending on how tired she is.

Missed the dropping naps bit, dd dropped the lunch time nap at about 6 months I think but again depends on day and her mood!! As for rest he will prob have at least 1 nap a day til 2.5-3 years at a guess

You're doing amazingly. Mine is 4mo and we get 20 mins in the morning, half an hour at midday and half an hour late afternoon. and he wakes up 3-4 times per night. I'm at end of tether with it and have tried everything to no avail.

Your situation was hard to read, to be honest! Sounds amazing!

Thanks everyone, it's helpful to know that it varies. I just need to keep trying to understand my babies needs I guess & ensure it's right for him.

Cookie- I'm honestly not there yet with the day time naps. He absolutely hates his morning nap with a passion. I'm 20mins in and he's still crying. I can't leave him to cry it out so it's pick up put down 100 times. Lunchtime marginally better.

Dd1 used to sleep in the morning for an hour and in the afternoon for 2 hours. She settled into the routine somewhere between 4 months and 6 months. She dropped the morning nap at about 1 years( but it had been a bit hit and miss since about 10months). Afternoon nap got a bit longer at 1 years and then started to get shorter from about 2 years. Finally dropped it at 2.5 years.

DD2 is 4 months and seems to be having 3 rather short sleeps during the day. No idea what to do about it as she keeps being woken up by DD1. My fingers are crossed for better daytime sleeps once weaning is established (although that is ages away!).
