DD(7) has school shoes, school trainers, plimsolls, boots, wellies, H&M cheap converse style shoes and snow boots. I will get her some sort of summery shoe soon and also possibly some cheapish pretty/smart shoes for parties if the summery shoe doesn't satisfy her desire for prettiness.

RunnerFive · 09/04/2014 08:47

DS (4) has a pair of everyday shoes, wellies and snow boots.

RobinSparkles · 09/04/2014 08:57

DD1 (6) has: school shoes, a pair of Lelli Kellys from last summer that are probably getting a bit small, trainers, a pair of converse type shoes (not converse), winter boots and wellies.

DD2 (3) has: trainers, converse type shoes, doodles from last summer that still fit and she still insists on wearing even though they're knackered, some ballet pump party shoes and wellies.

schools shoes, PE trainers, trainers for home, wellies, crocs, football boots - so 6 pairs
times 4 - for older four =24 pairs

DS5 has wellies, 2 pairs of crocs, 2 pairs of trainers and nice shoes so another 6 pairs

no slippers for any of them

DD - wellies, 2 pairs nice shoes, crocs, boots, chucks and 3 pairs of soft leather booties for indoors

that's 39 pairs in total for 6 kids. unless I forgot some.

PiratePanda · 09/04/2014 09:29

In his current size (he's age 3 nearly 4), one pair of leather start-rites and one pair of sandals. He's growing so fast that it seems like a huge waste of money to buy more than that.

PiratePanda · 09/04/2014 09:29

Oh yes - he also has wellies.

JuniperTisane · 09/04/2014 09:36

DS1(3) has trainers, shoes and wellies. I will be getting him a pair of lighter canvas shoes this week and I may possibly stretch to sandals if the summer is warm enough. He has wellies at nursery too.

DS2(1) has one pair of first shoes, I will get him wellies once he's a bit more likely to need them.

JonathanGirl · 09/04/2014 09:44

6 year old has everyday leather shoes, canvas shoes, wellies. I have already packed away the winter boots.
I will get open toe sandals for the hot weather, might get some crocs for holidays.

2 year old has the same.

unintentionalthreadkiller · 09/04/2014 16:56

2.9yo DTs have:

trainers
'proper' shoes
wellies
fancy shoes left over from being flower girls that are too small and they still insist on wearing them
imitation croc type things from sainsburys

EvansOvalPiesYumYum · 09/04/2014 17:06

Everyone in this house seems to have at least 20 pairs each - honestly, you'd swear we were a family of caterpillars, not humans. I am constantly tripping over them, putting them away, pairing them up to throw in the cupboard, waving them in the air and shouting at them. When they were younger it was easier - one pair each of school shoes, plimsolls, trainers, party/smart shoes, (whichever) activity shoes, wellies. Easy.

NOW - it's 15 pairs of special trainers each, heaps of gorgeous night club shoes (boys and girls), snow boots, ski boots, motocross boots (several pairs, and they are very large, take up a lot of room) larger wellies, various fashion boots in different colours to go with different outfits, lots of high heels in various colours/styles, cute little pumps - lots of, in different colours.

I'm not an old woman who lives in a shoe - this is a house where lots of shoes live in this old woman's house.

EvansOvalPiesYumYum · 09/04/2014 17:07

Oh - I forgot all the flip flops and sandals and canvas things

BornToFolk · 09/04/2014 17:11

DS (6) has school shoes, school trainers, cheap trainers for mucking about at the park, Converse, football boots and wellies on the go at the moment. He's also got sandals and Croc-a-likes that have not been worn since last summer and are probably too small.

LtGreggs · 09/04/2014 17:14

7 yo DS

  • School shoes (these will be ankle-boot goretex style in winter, more trainer-ish in summer - school does not enforce strict black-only policy (v helpful!) and looks fine as long as they are sober & not flashy-lighty)
  • Out of school trainers - these waterproof / ankle boot style for winter
  • Walking boots (no wellies, uses these for mud as well as for countryside)
  • Snow boots (hardly used some years, daily use other years...)
  • Crocs or canvas shoes for summer (not bought yet)
  • Slippers

5 yo DS has the same, but no walking boots yet, still has wellies. Will probably get his first boots in the next year.

We are quite outdoorsy and live in Scotland.

LtGreggs · 09/04/2014 17:15

Oh yes, plus the stupid school gym plimsolls that never fit but are at least cheap!

hiccupgirl · 09/04/2014 21:06

4 yr old DS has

Sensible leather shoes
2 pairs closed toe cheap sandals
Next pumps for parties
Wellies
Snow boots

His feet have been very slow growing for the past 2 yrs.

halfdrunktea · 09/04/2014 21:13

DS, 3, has wellies, nursery shoes, ordinary brown shoes, sandals (bought at a nearly new sale but not yet worn) and slippers, which he's stopped wearing. I could have probably just sent him to nursery in his brown shoes and next time he needs a pair of shoes I will get him just black shoes.
DD, 15 months - one pair of cruisers, one pair of wellies. She has just started walking but is size 2.5 and Clark's walking shoes only start from size 3. Her wellies are too big for her and fall off.

hels71 · 09/04/2014 22:23

DD is 6.
She has:
school shoes
wellies
trainers
black boots for the weekend
ballet shoes, tap shoes and jazz shoes for dance.
She will get sandals and crocs for the summer/beach

bendywillow · 09/04/2014 22:32
