Feel like I've balls everything up with DS2 but have got the energy to sort it

I can't see the wood for the trees, so tired and think I'm doing everything wrong.

DS1 is 2.5yrs, very active & demanding
DS2 is 6 months - feeds to sleep, has no rountine, is now fighting sleep. Is still being swaddled (wombie) despite being able to roll. He is still feeding every 90mins to 2hrs. Waking twice a night at least. Can't self settle. Not interested in food at all. Wakes at 5.30-6am every morning. He hasn't slept since 11 am this morning. I'm exhausted.

I don't know where to start rectifying everything. I was so much more structured and rountine based so I knew when DS1 was hungry/tired etc. with DS2 I just am so busy with DS1 I don't know what I'm doing or when so that is why he is feeding so much as I just feed when crying (also because he feeds to sleep I feed then as well).

I want to stop feeding to sleep & for him to have a loose rountine (I used Easy with DS1) I would also like him to self settle and don't mind CC as used it with DS1 as it was great. Only prob is because I don't have a rountine I can't be sure he's not hungry when he cries etc.

Also I've tried to stop swaddling but he wakes every 5-10mjns - its a nightmare.

I need some encouragement - where should I start? Lengthen gaps in between feeds (would this help with him taking solids) stop swaddling or well what? I just can't see the woods for the trees and feel like I not what I'm doing wrong but haven't got the energy to tackle it all in one go.

Help me get it sorted for my own sanity!

Sorry, no advice but bumping as I'm in the same boat, even down to the swaddling!

It sounds like you definitely liked a routine before and would like one again for the structure. Therefore, I would pick a routine that fits you best, there are many out there, Gina Ford, Tizzie Hall, Baby whisperer etc and stick to it as best you can. I use Gina and love it, there is also a board on baby centre that can give you lots of support specifically for Gina followers.

You could start with a consistent wake and bedtime say for example 7-7. With regard to nap times etc it depends what routine you follow. On Gina, your LO would be recommended to have a morning nap of 20-30mins and a lunchtime nap of 2 hours. Bath and bed by 7pm latest. 3 meals of solids a day with veg, protein and carbs. If you try Gina and want to Join the forum there are loads of helpful mums that will give lots of advice. Xx
