Ds is 18 months old and has started showing an interest in potty training. We aren't going in heavy handed, but nursery are sitting him on the potty while changing his nappy, and I do the same at bedtine. I've been giving him encouragement, and praising him when he sits on it. Is there anything else I should be doing?

I started pulls ups about that age let him sit on the toilet or potty if I was going or whenever he wanted to once he got to about 21mo I started to ask if he needed to go and he was dry by 2 years, so 6 months all in al but I found it much easier than proper 'training'

DD started nappy free time from when we go home until bedtime about that age. We also read princess Polly's potty every day. She was dry in the day from just before her 2nd birthday.

There's a boys version called pirate Pete's potty too.
