Has to be a specimen bottle (unused of course!!!!) filled with rice or pasta.....my LO of 7 months is so taken with it she crys if she cant get her hands on it... what beautiful music she makes!

Any others out there?

my 8mth old loves her empty cola bottle that she chases around the room or the empty kitchen roll...pmsl

cardboard tubes and things which fit down them
boxes with lids

corks - we have a large boxful and DS loves loading them onto trucks/trains etc.

I suggest you glue the lid on the bottle of rice...

pint milk jug with some rice in it -- actually used by both DD & DS!

LOL thanks soupdragon, note taken! She seems to have moved on now.....it didnt last long , her fasination for the rice shaker.... shes now moved on to newspaper and magazies, not so good though as she wants to eat them all the time....grrrrr why cant she play with the hundreds of toys i have invested in!!!!!!

We made shakers at playgroup once. Red lentils, rice etc in those little tonic bottles. Apparently they make one hell of a mess if your child removes the lid
