Hi. My wee man was born 23 December but haven't found a thread with any comrades the same age. The majority of the Nov/Dec babes were born beginning of Nov so are "big kids" compared to mine. Anyone out there who wants to have a chat every now and then. Seems that the only time I'm on Mums net is when I have a problem. Would be nice to share the good bits as well - just a thought.

Hi kiwicath, how's it going?
DS arrived 7th jan so maybe he's in the right timeframe.
Ikwym about sharing good bits as well. I've just started doing something I meant to do for 2 years, which is keep an occasional journal about dd and ds' progress. Would be great to hear your news too.

Hi me again. Where to start?? Like I said, Jake was born 23 December 03 in Cairo. Great pregnancy and drug free, not too painful delivery. Jake was tongue tied when born but a quick snip from the surgeon sorted that out. For the first 2 weeks he slept solidly and almost never waking on his own accord. I was so worried he wasn't gaining weight as I couldn't seem to get anything down him. When he did wake or when I woke him, he'd be so groggy he wouldn't latch on properly. He didn't regain his birth weight (8.05lbs - 3.65kg) until 4 weeks but has now doubled that at only 11 weeks. Breastfeeding going brilliantly now that we both have our heads around it. In the sleep department I couldn't ask for a better babe. He's slept from 7-7 with a sleepy a feed at 10.30 from 6 weeks so those dreaded sleepless nights have not been a problem for us. Daytime naps are a different matter though. I'm a bit of a routine monster but not following any specific book - like to read them all though to get lots of opinions. Have been reading alot about "attachment parenting" which is not my cup of tea but each to their own. He was in his own bed/room from early on and seems to crave his quiet times so I just go with his flow.

He started swimming last week and seems to love it - just one big bath to him!!) Need to get him comfy in the water before summer arrives. The temperatures get up to 45-50C (won't be out doors in that though!!!) No worries about what to wear - it's just naps and t/shirts from April to October. We use cloth naps by the way and love love loving it!!!

Sorry if that was one big gush but I'm feeling rather blessed at the moment. My life hasn't "changed" as everyone said it would - more like....."enhanced"
