I have a book token to spend and I'm looking for ideas. DS is 9 months and I wondered about getting some sort of parenting book - thinking of ways to instil good attitudes and behavior, discipline, ideas for age specific activities. I don't necessarily expect it to be immediately relevant.

So what would you recommend and why?

Margot Sutherland What every patent needs to know

It had the facts about why babies and toddlers behave and develop as they do, how to deal with tantrums etc, why they are normal, and how early care influences a child's lifelong response to stress etc.

Can see this might involve a long trip to the local bookshop...
